This elongated intarsia stone has marbleized colors running through the entirety of the stone. I bought it from a stonecutter friend in Thailand and held onto it for three years before deciding on a suitable wrap. I've border-wrapped the stone in 21 gauge sterling silver wire with a loop and tiny claws. Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself. The pendant measures 2 7/8" from top of bail and is 1 1/8" wide. Note: Rainbow calsilica is described as being a “microcrystalline calcite with the color resulting from a copper push that cross-cuts rhyolite.” Under Raman spectrography the stone appears to have calcite and plastic or parrafin-like materials present in the stone. There are two theories widely spread about rainbow calsilica: one that it is laboratory made, the other that it is mined near Chihuahua, Mexico.
