This lovely stone has a dark greem background with splashes and orbs of rose red color migrating from the upper left-hand corner down the length of the slightly domed stone. I've border wrapped it in 21 gauge square sterling wire with double tailored swirls over the top of the stone and tiny claws. Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself. The pendant with topper measures 2 3/8" from top of bail and is 1 1/8" wide. Note: Ocean jasper has an interesting history. Ocean jasper from Madagascar is a relatively new material to appear on the market though its original discovery occured in 1922. Ocean jasper's distinctive orbicular patterns are made up of round or spherical inclusions of contrasting colors floating in solid jasper. The orbs can range in diameter from a millimeter to a centimeter, and frequently show a particularly dramatic concentric banding. How this jasper forms is still a scientific mystery.
