This designer-cut mawsitsit is a lovely grass green with feathery black inclusions. I've border-wrapped the stone in 21 gauge sterling silver wire with double swirls at the top Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself. The pendant measures 2 7/8" from top of bail and is 1 1/2" wide.
Note: Mawsitsit is the name of this metamorphic rock found only in Northern Myanmar (formerly Burma). It is a high-chromium cousin to jadeite and is famous for its vivid green coloring. The green color is from chromium, while the sometimes flowing black veining comes from ureyite. Eduard Gubelin, a Swiss Gemologist first identified this material in 1963 while traveling there.
Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
