Chrysocolla is a unique green-blue but can vary widely from more blue to more green, often in the same specimen. In this case there's a lot of tan color mingling with shades of turquise and teal. I fell in love with these stones the first time I saw them. A gorgeous alternative to turquoise. The 12mm beads are set apart with Bali daisy spacers and the necklace ends with silver balls and a substantial Karen silver hammered toggle clasp. Exquisitely chic for any occasion. For matching earrings, go here. Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself. The necklace is 18 1/2 inches long.
Note: Chrysocolla is a sky-blue to greenish blue and green color, often streaked with black. It is found in the oxidization zone of copper deposits and associated with azurite, malachite, cuprite, turquoise, and quartz (chalcedony mostly). Chrysocolla is considered an ore of copper when associated with other secondary copper minerals. It is found in Chile, Mexico, Russia, Africa, England, Italy, and in the U.S. in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. Its only value is as a semi-precious gemstone in jewelry. The high quality material is highly prized and sought after by jewelers and rough specimen collectors alike.
Enjoy wearing this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
