Amazonite, often a pale green, can also be a luscious shade of blue as seen in these yummy 19 x 7mm flat ovals. I've added small Bali daisy spacers and 4mm sterling beads to set off the color, also a sterling silver necklace extender so it can be worn as a choker or longer. This piece would go well with these matching earrings. The beads lay smoothly on the neck, secured by a sturdy 16mm pear lobster claw clasp. Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself. The necklace is 17 1/2 to 19 1/2 inches long.
Note: Amazonite varies in color from yellow-green to blue-green and may also exhibit fine white streaks. Amazonite is a gemstone variety of green microcline, a feldspar mineral. It is usually opaque and therefore is cut en cabochon. Care should be taken in storing this gemstone to protect it from scratches. Amazonite has been mined in Minas Gerais (Brazil), Colorado (U.S.), Ontario and Quebec (Canada), Baveno (Italy) and the Ural Mountains of Russia. Folklore suggests this is a stone of healing and one to improve a marriage.
Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
