Rhodochrosite derives its pink color from manganese. Argentina has the oldest mines but most of the mineral today is mined in the United States or sometimes in Brazil. For gem purposes, it is primarily cut into cabochons or beads. These particular stone beads are a navette shape and very colorful with the tiniest bit of white, pink, rose, and tan in a gorgeous pattern. I've kept the design simple, just daisy spacers and silver balls with my handcrafted earwires. Enjoy! These lovely earrings measure 1 1/2".
